Taron Malicos, a former Jedi Knight, once wielded a pair of dual-bladed lightsabers, which became a symbol of his fall to the dark side. As a Jedi, Malicos was a skilled warrior and scholar, particularly focused on ancient Jedi lore. However, during the Clone Wars, he grew disillusioned with the Jedi Order’s dogma and its inability to see the true complexities of the galaxy.

Taron Malicos used two red single-bladed lightsabers. The hilt of the sabers used the Magus model. Lightsabers wrought in this style featured emitters with two spike-like protrusions on either side, and elaborate engravings. The hilt then tapered off into a square-patterned section which connected to a ringed handgrip and pointed pommel.
