Samurai Warrior Hand Forged Clay Tempered Metal Katana Sword

This handmade, traditionally hand forged clay tempered katana, is made of folded steel. The folding process removes impurities from the steel, leaving only the finest quality steel. It is hammered and heated and hammered and heated until the perfect blade is formed. It is quenched for the perfect hardness. The wooden handle is wrapped in genuine Stingray skin (Samekawa) before the traditional cotton handle wrapping (Tsukamaki).

A clay-tempered sword is a blade produced using a traditional forging and heat-treatment method called differential hardening. This technique is most famously associated with traditional Japanese swords like the katana.

The core principle of this method is to give the sword two distinct properties within a single blade: a very hard, sharp cutting edge and a tough, flexible spine that resists breaking.
