Savage Opress was the brother of Darth Maul. A Force-sensitive Dathomirian Nightbrother, he became a Sith apprentice under Count Dooku and later became a Sith Lord, apprenticed to Darth Maul.
Savage Opress's double-bladed lightsaber closely resembled his brother Maul's original lightsaber, but also contained design features similar to Count Dooku's lightsaber, including the emitter guards on both ends. Opress's weapon had an ignition frequency similar to a growl, while the hum of the blade had a much deeper resonance.
